4月後半戦の週末に久しぶりに映画を見に行って来ました。

告知されてからずっと気になっていた作品で、そろそろ終映するというのでやっと足を運びました。

アニメーション映画『パリに咲くエトワール』という作品です。1912年、主人公2人の少女がフランス・パリで夢を追う物語。一人は画家として。もう一人はオペラ座で踊るバレエダンサーとして。

芸術と文化を持って国際交流の橋渡しとなることや、夢を叶えたい人の背中を押すこと、ひたむきに応援しながら自らのやりたいことに辿り着くことを描いた作品です。若々しく素直で誠実な主人公の姿が眩しい。

パリの有名な場所や印象派を筆頭にその当時の画家の作品も随所で見られます。

華やかで色鮮やかなパリが、第一次世界大戦に突入すると灰色、無彩色へと変わる街並みの中で、そこに暮らす人々の日常の生活を描き出します。

東洋から来た少女が夢を追いながら自立してかの地で生きていく決意をし、お金を稼ぎ逞しく自立しようとする姿に女性の社会進出の萌芽もみることもできます。

わたしも十年前に抱いたパリへの憧れを、忙しい一日の約二時間思い出したのでした。

そして、今の自分にも刺さるセリフもありました。

時代・年齢・環境に関らず創作者の抱えているものの正体は変わらないのかも知れません。

Movie Review: Animated Film 'L'étoile de Paris en fleur'

A story of two young girls pursuing their dreams in Paris, France, in 1912.

One as a painter. The other as a ballet dancer performing at the Paris Opera.

This film depicts how art and culture can serve as bridges for international exchange, how to encourage those who want to fulfill their dreams, and how to reach one's own goals while receiving unwavering support. The youthful, honest, and sincere protagonist is dazzling.

Famous Parisian locations and works by Impressionist painters and other artists of the time can be seen throughout the film.

The film portrays the daily lives of people living in Paris amidst the city's transformation from vibrant and colorful to gray and achromatic as it entered World War I.

The story of a girl from the East who decides to live independently in Paris while pursuing her dreams, and her determination to earn money and become strong and independent, also shows the beginnings of women's advancement in society.

I, too, recalled my longing for Paris ten years ago for about two hours during a busy day.
